Project “Making family business transfers successful through education and training” – SUCCESS…ION

projectLecturers from Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Law and History at the South-West University of Neofit Rilski, Blagoevgrad, participate in the project “MAKING FAMILY BUSINESS TRANSFERS SUCCESSFUL THROUGH EDUCATION AND TRAINING”, also known as the “SUCCESS…ION” Project under its acronym, co-funded by Erasmus + on the European Commission. The project started in late 2015 and will end at the end of August 2017.

The project is coordinated by the Yambol Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria. Its team includes nine partners from Bulgaria, Spain, Germany, Greece and Cyprus. These organizations combine experience in vocational training, business and entrepreneurial consulting, research and academic knowledge, e-learning and adult education, the provision of technical solutions in education and training.

 “SUCCESS…ION” project aims to identify the needs of different generations of professional training in retransmission of the family business from one generation to another in a common European market and the needs of new knowledge consultants of family businesses that could be used in the implementation of this process.

The project includes the following activities: research status of the family business in each country of the consortium and Europe, a report on the needs of modern forms of vocational training for participants in different types of family businesses, preparation of a manual for the transfer of family businesses from one generation to another, development of virtual learning, development of an online database with information on recommendations, analysis and useful information to the theme of the project and others.

In connection with the development and implementation of the project two coordination meetings were organized and implemented. They took place in the town of Yambol, Bulgaria and in the city of Trier, Germany.

On 17 and 18 December 2015, the Yambol Chamber of Commerce, as a leading partner in the project "SUCCESS…ION", hosted a coordination meeting to launch the project. Nine representatives of the partner organizations attended the coordination meeting. Within two days, the participants had the opportunity to examine in detail the project to draw a schedule for implementation of activities and to set deadlines for achieving the objectives. Representatives from two of the partner organizations took the meeting interactively. They were unable to travel to Yambol at this time of year.

The University of Trier, Germany hosted the meeting on 1-2 June in Trier. The event was opened by Professor Block – dean of the faculty "Entrepreneurship and Innovation". Twelve representatives of the partner organizations from Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Greece and Cyprus attended the meeting.
